My name is Jeff and I served 12 years in the United States Army. I served in the Gulf War and as a direct result of combat I am permanently disabled. In spite of the fact that several doctors ( both V.A. and private sector) told me I could no longer work, it was still over a year before my disability payments would take effect.

Due to the fact that I had gone so long without work or income my wife, son, and myself ended struggling with periods of homelessness and of course bankruptcy and ruined credit.

When benefits started coming in, we paid back what we could and placed ourselves on a very strict budget. We have since found a rental and struggle month to month to maintain a meager lifestyle.

It has been my life's dream to own a home we could call our own. I desperately pray for the sense of security and self sufficiency only home ownership can provide.

I have managed to qualify for a rather high interest home loan, but the payments would fit our strained budget and it would answer my dream.

My big problem, I cannot raise the closing cost and remainder of the down-payment on my own. Our budget does not allow room for saving money and remaining in a suitable dwelling.

I am asking if anyone would be willing to help me with a monetary gift to achieve this last phase to self sufficiency. There is no amount to small and we are truly grateful for anything you are willing to do. I have never ask for help like this before and of course would never have a need to do it again.
